Artist George E. Miller created “Connected for Our Children”, in 2010 as an entry to a contest put on by the Native American Child Welfare Association. Mr. Miller’s artwork “Connected for our Children” did not win but did receive honorable mention. Mr. Miller’s artwork depicts a Native American family as it surrounds and protects its children on the road of life. Keeping a watchful eye from the mountain top is the Chief in full headdress. Hidden in the clouds is the word “Compassion”, hidden elsewhere in the artwork are the words “Courage, Patience, Wisdom and Love”, all necessary traits as they navigate the road of life! The Native American culture is one of beauty and strength, their heritage and their love of the earth should be admired and respected by all!
